Ancilla’s Reese named MCCAA Athletic Director of the Year

Retired Ancilla College Athletic Director has been named the 2018 Michigan Community College Athletic Association Athletic Director of the Year. Reese who retired in February, also won the award in 2006. Reese was the only Athletic Director Ancilla College had since starting sports in 1995.

Reese led the Chargers Athletic program to a successful campaign this year as the Men’s Bowling, Women’s Bowling, Women’s Basketball and Women’s Golf program all qualified for Nationals. The Chargers also qualified one wrestler for the NJCAA Wrestling Nationals. The Men’s and Women’s Bowling programs finished second at the NJCAA National Bowling Championships this season.

Reese was the MCCAA Western Conference Director and Western Conference volleyball chair for many years. He was also the only chair ever of the MCCAA Finance Committee. He contributions to the MCCAA will be greatly missed.

The award is presented every year at the MCCAA Summer Meetings. Athletic Directors from the MCCAA can nominate deserving people and a committee selects the winner. The award was first presented in 1990.
