Arens joins 1,000 point club

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – In Saturday’s 81-60 win against Silver Lake, Huntington University senior Tyler Arens reached a significant milestone in his basketball career by becoming the 48th Forester to eclipse the 1,000-point mark.

The 6-8 forward entered the night with 993 points. He scored two buckets within the first five minutes and then at the 12:59 mark he drained a triple to join the exclusive club. Arens finished the day with 11 points.

Seven games into this season, Arens is averaging 16.7 points and 7.4 rebounds.

In Arens’ three years in Huntington green and white, he has accumulated 1,004 points and boasts a career average of 16.5 points per outing. The Sweetser native has also collected 397 rebounds and 61 blocks during his time as a Forester.

HU is currently 6-1 on the year.
