KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Southeastern University senior Ryan Atkins was named to the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball All-America Third Team for the second time in his career.
Atkins becomes just the second player in program history to land on one of the All-America teams, joining Dwayne Johnson in 2013-14.
Atkins scored 651 total points in his only season at Southeastern, ranking 16th in the nation in total points. The Miami native averaged 21 points per game, and was 85% at the free throw line.
Additionally, Atkins connected on 58 3-pointers, and was 43% from the field. He posted 18 games with 20 or more points, and was SEU’s leading scorer in 19 of its 31 contests.
This marks Atkins second Third-Team All-American honor, earning the same accolade last season at West Virginia Tech.
The Fire finished the season with a 21-10 record, winning The Sun Conference Tournament for the first time in program history, and making its second NAIA Division II National Championship tournament appearance.
