Barragan Goal Give PNW Men’s Soccer a Big 1-0 Win in OT Over Davenport

CALEDONIA, Mich. – Freshman Justin Barragan (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) waited until the right time to notch his first career goal, connecting on a game-winner in the first minute of overtime to down Davenport University (Mich.), 1-0, in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action Friday night at DU Turf Field in Caledonia, Mich.

Barragan connected from 25 yards out on a pass from Jose Andriano (Mexico City, Mexico/John F. Kennedy) to defeat the Panthers in the regular season finale.

Barragan, Djordje Cancarevic (Sabec, Serbia/Chippewa) and Felix Guenzel (Munich, Germany/Anne-Frank Gymnasium Erding), each led the Pride with a pair of shots each.

Goalkeeper Bradley Brack (Crown Point, Ind./Merrillville) gathered four saves and recorded his first career win for the Black and Gold.

The Pride (4-8-3 overall/3-7-2 GLIAC) earned the No. 5 seed in the upcoming GLIAC Tournament and will face off with Davenport again on Oct. 31.  The time of the match has yet to be determined.
