INDIANAPOLIS – Bellarmine University senior distance runner Joe Drabot and University of Indianapolis senior thrower Austin Hogan have earned the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors of the season, it was announced by the Conference office Wednesday.
MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Joe Drabot, Bellarmine
Sr., Distance, Cedarburg, Wisconsin
Major: Master of Business Administration
Team Competition: 7th/9, 5 points, Bellarmine Invitational
Finished second in the 5,000 meters in a time of 14 minutes, 53.92 seconds, which ranks first in the GLVC
Returned the next day in the 1,500 meters to win in 4:00.58, which also rates first in the GLVC

MEN’S OUTDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Major: Anatomical Sciences
Team Competition: 1st/9, 48 points, Bellarmine Invitational
Won the shot put (16.95 meters) and the discus (56.12 meters) to open his outdoor campaign
Finished third in the weight throw with a personal best mark of 64.98 meters
All three marks met NCAA provisional qualifying standards and are tops in the GLVC
Fifth career GLVC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor (4/11/17, 4/3/18, 4/18/18, 4/26/18)
