Pilots Win Shooting War of Attrition Against SAU

MISHAWAKA – Bethel Men’s Basketball outlasted the Spring Arbor Cougars on Saturday in the Wiekamp Athletic Center to secure a 90-78 victory. Both teams shot over 56-percent from the field and 52-percent from long range, but it was the Pilots’ Jared DeHart leading the way to victory with a game-high 25 points on 8-12 from the field and 5-6 from three-point range.

• The Cougars shot 62.7-percent from the field and 52.9-percent from the three-point line while the Pilots shot 56.1-percent from the field, 58.3-percent from the three-point line.
• The Pilots forced 18 turnovers and outscored the Cougars 15-7 in points off turnovers.
• The Pilots’ bench outscored the Cougars’ 42-22.
• Zac Owens went over 1,500 points for his college career. He began his career at Huntington with 631 points in two seasons, scored 210 points at Emporia State, and has recorded 654 points in one-plus season as a Pilot.
• Jared DeHart moved into 53rd in program history in career scoring with 1,151 career points.
