MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Bethel Pilots (3-5) roared back with two wins on Tuesday, the second day of the USSSA Space Coast Games: a 22-0 victory over Fishers College (Mass.) and a 3-2 win in eight innings over Mount Marty University (S.D.).

The Pilot bats exploded with a nine-run top of the first with a mix of four errors by the Fishers’ defense and nine hits. Desiree Boone struck in the top of the second with a single to right, and Shelby White scored Boone with a ground out to shortstop, 11-0 Pilots. Maggie Robbins roped one to right field and scored Courtney Mills to grow to a 12-0 lead.

The hot streak continued in the top of the third, with the Pilots peppering the field with another seven runs, including two errors that scored Boone and Hannah Goldsboro. Goldsboro, Boone, and Madison Shaw struck in the top of the fifth, forcing the 10-run rule after the fifth inning.

Leeah Wade earned her first win of the season with a five-inning complete game, only allowed one walk, and struck out six. Maggie Robbins had an incredible day at the plate, going 5-for-5 with three RBIs, and Desiree Boone went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

VS MOUNT MARTY

It was a much closer game two, with Meghan Younger roping a double to center to score Morgan Blubaum in the bottom of the first, 1-0 Bethel. Mount Marty tied the game with an RBI single in the top of the fourth, but Hannah Goldsboro laced in Ryann Norris with an RBI single and retook the lead 2-1.

MMU tied the game with a sacrifice fly to left and forced extra innings but set up Desiree Boone to walk off the game off an error by the right fielder, scoring Emily Kidwell to cap off the 3-2 win.

Ryann Norris (3-2) earned the win after she came in relief for starter Harmony Looney in the middle of the fourth inning. Looney ended her night with four hits, one run, five walks, and three strikeouts, while Norris finished with two hits, one run, one walk, and four punchouts.
