Mount Vernon, Ohio. — The Bethel University Women’s Basketball team dropped their fifth straight game Tuesday evening, falling on the road to Mount Vernon Nazarene University 74-59.

It was a tough night shooting as Bethel shot just 37.9% from the field and connected on only 2 of 15 from behind the 3-point line for the game.

Nyla Asad led the Pilots with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Close behind was Maiah Shelton with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Addi Jones and Abby Williams each had 7 rebounds, respectively.

The Pilots utilized their bench well, outscoring the Cougars 26-11, but MVNU’s 10 trifectas were the difference as they outpaced the Pilots by 24 points from beyond the arc 30-6.

With this loss, the Pilots now have an overall record of 4-6 and 0-2 in Crossroads League play.
