Bethel Women’s Soccer falls to #17 IWU at home 2-0

MISHAWAKA, Ind. — On a rainy Saturday night, the Bethel Pilots (6-3-4, 0-2-3) fell to the NAIA 17th-ranked Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats with two weather delays split between the first and second half.

The Wildcats had three corners almost within a minute of each other, and two shots were taken from them by Jackie Norris but were saved by Meghan Kiebel.

Leila Mojtahedi had her turn in the 19th minute but missed high, and Leena Thomas took a try on-frame but was grabbed by IWU keeper Avery Sluss.

The first goal came from Alejandra Tavarez assisted by Alyssa Hamann in the 59th minute and the Wildcats sealed the game in the 70th minute by Sarah Foulk off Savanna Cronin.

 

NEXT TIME OUT

The Pilots will take on the #13 Marian Knights on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Indianapolis, Ind., with kickoff at 7 p.m.
