Women’s Soccer Outplayed by Taylor in 1-0 Loss
Upland, Ind. – The Bethel women’s soccer team fell by the score of 1-0 against (RV) Taylor on Wednesday in a match they were outshot 23-4. It marks the third time in four matches the Pilots fall by a score of 1-0. The Pilots stand at 3-8-2 overall and 1-3-0 in the Crossroads League with five matches remaining in the regular season.
The lone goal of the match came in the 28th minute as Taylor’s Danielle Toren headed in the goal off an assist from Megan Kammer one one touch off the free kick.
Tessa Zimmerly made 10 saves in the match, as the Pilots had to play on their heels all match long, defending 23 shots and 14 corners from the Trojans.
“Our girls showed an outstanding level of commitment tonight,” stated Head Coach Jamie Lindvall. “Second half we really battled back to put ourselves in dangerous situations in the final third but couldn’t quite find the back of the net. I continue to be so proud of the level these women bring to the field.”
The Pilots return to Morey Field on Saturday for a Crossroads League matchup against (RV) Indiana Wesleyan for a 2:00 pm kick-off.
