MISHAWAKA, Ind. —The Bethel Pilots (14-10, 6-5) battled with the Huntington University Foresters (20-4, 8-3) on Saturday afternoon in the Gates Gymnasium. The Pilots suffered a tough five set loss following the senior day festivities.

Seniors Breyana Bosket and Ainsley Tacke were each recognized for their contributions to the Bethel Women’s Volleyball Program. Bosket’s siblings sang the national anthem prior to the Crossroads League faceoff.

Tacke led the Pilots in kills (19).

Haley Biedenbach posted an impressive 51 assists, her highest in a single game this season, alongside a service ace.

Freshman Sophia Beeson also posted a standout offensive performance with 17 kills, a new single-game record for her.

Head Coach Erica Dregits shared, “That one stings because we fought hard and put ourselves in a position to win. Ultimately, unforced errors at key moments cost us. But the way we battled for five sets shows the heart and grit of this team. We’ll learn from this and be sharper next time.”

Senior Breyana Bosket shared, “We are all disappointed by the loss, but we fought hard as a team so we can leave the game with our heads high. The whole team made it such a special day for Ainsley and I and really made us feel so loved on Senior Day. I am beyond grateful for every one of my teammates, managers, and coaches and thank the Lord for the opportunity to get to be with them.”

Senior Ainsley Tacke shared, “I thought senior day was very special! It was even more special to have both mine and BB’s families here to celebrate with us. Of course I would have loved to win on senior day but we fought hard. Time to move on to Marian!”

The Pilots will next travel to Indianapolis to face the No. 22 Marian University Knights at the Physical Education Center. First serve is set for 7 PM.
