KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2017-18 Division II Men’s Basketball All-American teams on Thursday, and senior Gage Ott was among the thirty players to receive a spot on an All-America team.
Ott led the Pilots with 16.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game, while shooting over .600 from the field this season, one of three players in the nation to reach those numbers, to garner a spot on the Second Team.
The LaPorte, Indiana native adds to his list of accomplishments this season, which already includes a Crossroads League First Team and All-Defensive Team honors, and NCCAA North Central Region MVP and First Team recognition.
Ott is the 32nd player in program history to earn mention on the NAIA All-American list since 1990, just the 12th to earn at least Second Team status, and the first under first-year head coach Ryne Lightfoot‘s tenure.
Players were chosen by the Division II Men’s Basketball All-America Committee. There are three teams of 10 individuals each that make up the 2018 All-Americans..
