• Purdue’s Elijah Sindelar completed 34-of-52 passes for 509 yards and five touchdowns in the Boilermakers’ victory over Vanderbilt to become the first Purdue quarterback with five or more touchdown passes and 500 yards in a game since Kyle Orton in 2004. The senior quarterback threw for more than 400 yards for the second consecutive game, becoming the first Boilermaker to do so since Drew Brees in 1998 …

• Maryland continued its record-breaking performance in Week 2 with a 63-20 victory over Syracuse on Saturday. The Terps’ 142 points through the first two games are tied for the fourth-most by a Big Ten team since 1900 and the most by a Big Ten team since Ohio State scored 142 in 1996 …

• Wisconsin defeated Central Michigan 61-0 on Saturday for the team’s 24th straight home opening win. The Badgers led 44-0 at halftime and outgained Central Michigan by 541 total yards, and gained 37 first downs while holding the Chippewas to just three. Wisconsin has scored 110 points in the first two games of the season, making the Badgers the first FBS team to score at least 100 points while allowing 0 in their first two games since South Carolina in 1980 …

• With its 42-0 victory over Cincinnati last weekend, Ohio State claimed its eighth straight win overall, marking the second-longest active streak among Autonomy Five teams. The win was the fifth for head coach Ryan Day, who posted a 3-0 record a year ago as interim head coach …
