LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University softball players Hannah Bodenhorn and Brandee Pietrzak were honored for their performances in a pair of 2-0 wins over Keiser last week by The Sun Conference.
Bodenhorn was named Pitcher of the Week, after dealing her seventh shutout of the season against Keiser University this past weekend. The transfer from North Alabama struck out nine hitters while only surrendering two hits. Bodenhorn posted a WHIP of 0.85. The Nashville, Tennessee native held opposing hitters to a batting average on balls in play (BABIP) of .153.
Pietrzak was solely responsible for three of the Fire’s four runs against Keiser University, and was named the league’s player of the week. She served as the catalyst for the Fire securing hits in each at bat where she led off an inning. Along with her blemish free on-base percentage and 1.000 batting average for the week, the native of New Carlisle, Indiana hit 1.000 with runners in scoring position. Pietrzak has now hit safely in 13 straight games, and has reached base safely in 18 straight.
The Fire are now 27-12, and host Coastal Georgia Wednesday at 2 p.m.
