Bradbury Scores 24, TU Downs Goshen at Home

UPLAND – The Trojans relied on solid free throw shooting in their third Crossroads League victory of the season, finishing 24-of-27 from the charity stripe. Senior Kendall Bradbury shot 39.1 percent from the field, pouring in 24 points and eight rebounds in the winning effort.

A three-pointer from Becca Buchs gave the tenth-ranked TU squad a promising 10-point lead early in the contest.

The Leafs (6-7, 0-5 CL) battled though, starting the second quarter with a six-point rally. After a back and forth period, Taylor held a one-point advantage at the end of the first half.

TU (11-4, 3-2 CL) dominated the turnover margin in the first half, forcing 12 turnovers from Goshen with only five Taylor giveaways.

The Trojans finally took control in the third stanza, dropping 11-straight points in the last five minutes of the quarter. The TU squad went six-for-six from the free throw line with a trey from Abby Buchs and a two-pointer from Bradbury in the rally to push the momentum into the fourth.

Despite the 10-point lead heading into the final period, Taylor kept up the aggressiveness, getting to the free throw line 14 times and converting on 11 of those attempts. Outscoring the visitors by 17 in the final 10 minutes of the game, TU took the victory with by the final margin of 75-48.

Becca Buchs collected an efficient 21 points, netting six-of-12 shots from the floor and four-of-six from downtown. Buchs also added nine rebounds, five free throws and two steals in Saturday’s contest.

Guards Aubrey Wright and Abby Buchs also recorded double-digit scoring outings, combining for 27 points on the night. Leading the team in assists, Wright did it all for the Trojans, including 12 points, six assists, six rebounds and two steals. All of Buchs field goals came from beyond the arc, as the junior finished with 15 points and four steals.

No. 10 Taylor (11-4, 3-2 CL) will look to extend its three game winning streak, as the team will head to Ann Arbor, Michigan to face Concordia (0-10) at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 17.
