Bradbury Tallies 40 as Taylor Lands 16th-Straight Win

GOSHEN, Ind. – Kendall Bradbury finished with 40 points in Wednesday’s contest, coming up one points shy of the program’s single-game scoring record, which she posted lasted year. The scoring outburst from Bradbury bolstered the Trojans to a comfortable 89-64 road rout.

Bradbury’s 40 points added to her collection of spectacular games, as she has now recorded the four best single-game scoring outputs in program history. The senior captain also knocked down the second-most field goals in a single game in TU history, draining 15-of-23 attempts from the field. This incredible scoring moved Bradbury into second all-time in the Crossroads League with 2,677 career points, needing just nine points to set the league record.

It did not take long for Taylor (24-4, 15-2 CL) to gain a lead on Wednesday, grabbing an 18-7 advantage seven minutes into the contest. Bradbury got it going early, contributing 16 points in the first quarter. The TU squad went 12-for-19 from the planks, converting at a 63.2 percent clip in the first ten minutes of action.

Taylor broke away in the second quarter with a nine-point run off of three treys from three different Trojans. TU pushed their lead to 21 points as the buzzer sounded for halftime.

Taylor took control of the game through points off of Goshen (7-22, 1-16 CL) turnovers. The Trojans picked up 19 points off of Leaf giveaways, leading the home squad by 17 points in the category.

The TU advantage never fell out of the double-digit range in the second half, as the team nabbed its 16th-consecutive victory. The 25-point win marked the ninth 20-point rout of the season for the Purple and Gold.

Four Trojans notched a double-digit scoring effort on Wednesday. Aubrey Wright continued her strong play with 13 points and nine assists, while Becca Buchs followed with 12 points and Abby Buchs with 12 points.

No. 8 Taylor will return to action for its Senior Day in its final regular season game on Saturday at 1:00 pm against Grace (16-13, 10-7 CL) in Odle Arena.
