Bradbury, Wyse Lead RV Taylor to Rout of Spring Arbor

UPLAND, Ind. – The TU women’s basketball team used a season-high 15 three-pointers and a combined 43 points from Kendall Bradbury and Cassidy Wyse to rout Spring Arbor, 76-49, and win its fourth-straight game on Wednesday night at Paul Patterson Court.

Taylor held a 26-20 lead with 3:49 left in the first half after an SAU bucket, but the Trojans ripped off 18-straight points on six triples to quickly inflate the advantage to 44-20 with 20 seconds left in the half. Wyse knocked down the first three, followed by two from Bradbury and Josie Cobb buried the sixth. The Cougars added a three-pointer in the final seconds to make it 44-23 in favor of TU at the intermission.

Spring Arbor (3-6, 0-2 CL) converted a trey and a deuce in the first three minutes of the second half to cut the lead to 19, but the Trojans would not allow another made bucket by the visitors in the third period, and TU finished the quarter on a 26-2 run to put the game away. Over the second and third periods, Taylor outscored SAU, 47-20, to break the game wide open.

Wyse finished the night with 23 points on seven-of-10 shooting from the floor and a career-high six-for-six from downtown, which also matched a school record for threes made without a miss. Yen Tran made six threes in six attempts against Grace on February 12, 1997. The senior forward also pulled down nine boards and dished out a team-high five assists.

Bradbury posted her eighth double-double of the year, with 20 points and 12 rebounds, along with four assists and two steals. Cobb added 14 points and five rebounds and Becca Buchs contributed nine points and five rebounds in the TU rout.

RV Taylor (6-4, 2-0 CL) travels to Mount Vernon Nazarene (6-3, 1-1 CL) on Saturday for a 1:00 pm tip-off, looking for its fifth-straight win.
