South Bend, Ind. – The Holy Cross women’s golf team dropped two spots on the final round of play at Blackthorn Golf Course in the Bethel Invite to finish in 8th place. The Saints were once again led by freshman Natalia Campbell who finished in 6th place.

Campbell was on her way to another top 5 finish after a first round 80, but a second round 85 dropped her to 6th place overall. Campbell finished four strokes behind second place and has yet to finish outside the top ten in her first year as a collegiate golfer. Macenzie Lane had one of her best tournaments in her young Holy Cross career finishing in 29th place after rounds of 90 and 87.

Senior Kylie Day was in the hunt for a top ten finish after a first round 85, but struggled on Saturday carding a 99. Day’s 184 total placed her in 39th place for the Pilot Invite. Jenna VandenBerg finished one stroke behind Day, with rounds of 91 and 94, respectively. Maisie Nugent fired in rounds of 96 and a final round 94 to finish in 42nd place.

The Saints women’s golf team will participate in the Spring Invite at Rock Hollow in Peru, Indiana beginning next Friday.
