CCAC Releases Postseason Awards
Chicago, Ill. The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced their men’s tennis All-Conference Awards. Holy Cross College has eight members of the men’s tennis program earn this distinction.
For the third consecutive year, Perry Gregg was named CCAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Year. The junior was also was tabbed All-Conference in Singles and Doubles. Gregg finished the regular season ranked #1 in Singles play in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NAIA East rankings and #4 in the National rankings.
Oscar Wai earned CCAC Freshman of the Year. Wai was also awarded All-Conference in singles. He and Ciaran McCarthy were awarded All-Conference for their doubles play.
Luca McManus and Adam Singleton earned CCAC All-Conference in Singles. The duo also competed in doubles together and were awarded All-Conference in Doubles.
Luca McManus was awarded CCAC All Conference in Singles play. The freshman finished the season with a 5-1 overall record in his No. 2 singles matches. He also went 8-4 in his doubles play, competing most of the season in No. 2 doubles.
Laurenz Flender teamed with Gregg to be named CCAC All-Conference in Doubles.
Eric Mahone was tabbed CCAC Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year, after guiding the Saints to a 12-3 overall record and their second-consecutive CCAC Title.
The Saints secured a bid to the 2024 NAIA Men’s Tennis National Championship. The 5-day tournament was held in Mobile, Alabama on May 14-18. The Saints took down Cumberland University 4-2 in the opening round, but fell to Westcliff University in the second round.
