The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Hobart senior linebacker Mark Mummey, Hobart senior defensive back Matthew Benton, and South Bend Saint Joseph junior soccer player Kyle Smith.

In the Brickies’ 42-21 victory at No. 9 Hammond Morton last Friday, Mummey had a fumble recovery for a touchdown as well as an interception, while Benton add a pair of interceptions to give him nine picks for the season. In all, Hobart (8-2) forced seven turnovers to advance to this Friday’s Class 4A Sectional 17 semifinal matchup against Highland (3-6) at The Brickyard.

This past Saturday in the Class 2A South Bend semistate at Father Bly Field, Smith accounted for the lone goal in the 77th minute to help the Indians to a 1-0 victory over Leo. Playing in the state championship game for the first time since 2003, Saint Joseph (14-6-2) takes Evansville Memorial (16-3-2) at 1:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday at Fishers High School.

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
