The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is Penn senior soccer player Kristina Lynch.
In Friday’s IHSAA Class 3A girls’ soccer state championship match held at Butler University in Indianapolis, Lynch recorded a pair of assists to help the top-ranked Kingsmen (23-0-1) claim their second straight title with a 2-0 victory over Guerin Catholic. The Florida State recruit, who finished the season with 44 goals and 19 assists, was also the recipient of the mental attitude award.
Special recognition also goes out to Wheeler senior soccer player Francesca Zeitler and South Bend Saint Joseph senior soccer player Caitlin Casey. Zeitler was the winner of the Class 1A mental attitude award, while Casey claimed the Class 2A mental attitude award. Wheeler (21-1) lost 1-0 in overtime to Evansville Mater Dei in the Class 1A girls’ final, while Saint Joe (18-5-1) dropped a 3-1 decision to Evansville Memorial in the Class 2A girls’ finale.
The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
