CENTIER BANK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK – 11-12-17

by | Nov 13, 2017 | Headlines, RRSN News | 0 comments

The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Lowell senior defensive back-running back Jaeger Gill and Penn sophomore quarterback Ryan Lynch. In the Red Devils’ thrilling 25-20 victory over New Prairie in Friday’s Class 4A regional, Gill scored the first touchdown of the game on a 78-yard pass from quarterback Ethan Igras. Then, late in the fourth quarter when the game was on the line, Gill and fellow senior Jordan Jusevitch carried the ball exclusively from a Wildcat formation. Gill ran the ball five times for 22 yards and then in a play just put in this week, he made a jumping pass over the defense to Jusevitch for a 25-yard touchdown. Thanks to Gill and the entire defense, Lowell limited the Cougars to 41 carries for only 120 yards. The Red Devils (13-0) travel to Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger (10-3) for Friday’s northern semistate contest.

In the Kingsmen’s 33-3 triumph at Crown Point in Friday’s Class 6A regional final, Lynch completed 10-of-16 passes for 176 yards and four touchdowns. He threw a six-yard strike to George Ohlson, a 64-yard toss to Ryan Whiteman, and a pair of 14-yard scoring plays to Zach Usenick. Lynch also ran seven times for 47 yards to help Penn (11-1) advance to the northern semistate for the fifth straight year where it take on defending state champion Carmel (8-4).

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
