The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Hobart senior defensive back Matthew Benton and Mishawaka Marian sophomore defensive back Greg Atkinson.

In Friday’s 36-7 win over No. 4 New Prairie, Benton came up with pair of interceptions and also returned a fumble for a touchdown as the Brickies claimed their 11th straight win and captured their first Class 4A regional crown since 1996. Hobart (11-2) travels to No. 2 East Noble (13-0) on November 22 for the Class 4A northern semistate title.

The 5-foot-11, 155-pound Atkinson was instrumental in Friday’s 17-0 blanking of Knox with a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown as the No. 4 Knights earned their second Class 3A regional title in the last three years. Marian (12-1) hosts top-ranked Indianapolis Bishop Chatard (12-1) on November 22 for the Class 3A northern semistate crown.

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
