The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Penn senior basketball player Drew Lutz and Crown Point freshman basketball player Jessica Carrothers.
In Saturday’s 69-45 victory over Carroll (Fort Wayne), the 5-foot-10 point-guard tallied 24 points, connecting on 9-of-16 field goals, including 4-of-8 from 3-point range, and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. The Bethel College also handed out 11 assists and grabbed two rebounds for the Kingsmen (1-0).
In Tuesday’s 61-33 win over East Chicago Central, the 5-foot-7 guard scored a team-high 24 points and then added 27 points, including 7-of-8 from the free throw line, in Friday’s 71-64 Duneland Athletic Conference road win at LaPorte to help the Bulldogs improve to 7-0 for the season.
The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
