The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Valparaiso senior quarterback C.J. Opperman and NorthWood senior basketball player Trent Edwards.

Playing in his final high school game this past Friday, Opperman was 13-of-31 for 292 yards with a touchdown for the No. 2 Vikings (13-1) in their 27-20 loss to top-ranked and defending state champion New Palestine in the Class 5A state championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Special recognition also goes out to Valparaiso senior football player Josh Fedorchak, who earned the Phil N. Eskew Mental Attitude Award for Class 5A.

The 6-foot-2 Edwards helped the Panthers open the 2019-20 campaign with a 2-1 record last week by netting 45 points. In Wednesday’s 75-47 victory over Lakeland, Edwards tallied 17 points with four assists and then added 13 points in a 53-37 win over Heritage Christian on Saturday afternoon. Later in the day, he chipped in 15 points and four assists in a 73-55 loss to Danville in the championship game on the Bud Brown Classic at Muncie Burris High School.

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
