The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Chesterton senior forward Hailey Vale and Penn senior post player Noah Krathwohl. In the Trojans’ 53-40 victory against Kankakee Valley this past Monday, the 6-foot-3 Vale scored 17 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, and blocked four shots. Then, in Friday’s 57-13 win over Hanover Central, she followed that performance up by scoring 16 points as the Trojans raced out to a 28-0 lead to improve their record to 12-1. Next up, the Lady Trojans travel to Warsaw on Wednesday to play in their holiday tournament against Perry Meridian.
In Friday’s 71-61 victory over Elkhart Memorial, the 6-4 Krathwohl netted 20 points, going 10-of-12 from the floor. He also hauled down four rebounds and had a blocked shot to help the Kingsmen improve their overall mark to 5-1. Earlier in Wednesday’s 68-44 win at New Prairie, Krathwohl tallied eight points on 4-of-5 shooting, grabbled two rebounds, and had a steal. Penn is now off until January 5 when it travels to South Bend Adams for a Northern Indiana Conference contest.
The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
