CENTIER BANK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK – 2-10-18

The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Munster junior swimmer Kay Foley and Northridge senior swimmer Sara Troyer. At the 44th annual IHSAA girls’ swimming and diving state finals held Friday and Saturday at the IU Natatorium at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Foley won the 500-yard freestyle individual event, finishing with a time of 4:49.87.  She also finished third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 25.53.

Troyer led from start to finish in claiming the Raiders’ first state title in diving with a score of 507.65. She got past Homestead’s Jackie Brenn (496.15) to help Northridge to a state runner-up finish with 215 points, while Carmel earned its 32nd straight crown with 363 points.

Special recognition also goes out to Northridge’s state champion 200-yard free relay team of Elsa Fretz, Kenzie Weber, Jenna Nethercutt, and Lauren Miller, who won the event over Carmel with a time of 1:34.07.

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
