The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Portage wrestlers Jacob Moran and Kris Rumph, Chesterton wrestlers Lucas Davison and Eli Pokorney, Jimtown wrestler Hunter Watts, and Northridge wrestler Conner Graber.
In Saturday’s IHSAA state wrestling finals held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, the junior Moran (34-2) won the 106-pound title with an 8-1 victory over Perry Meridian’s Alexander Cotter, while the senior Rumph (32-4) captured the 138-pound crown with a 9-6 victory over Indianapolis Cathedral’s Zach Mellow.
In the 195-pound finale, the senior Davison made it back-to-back titles with a 19-7 win over Indianapolis Roncalli’s Sam Hanson to complete a 52-0 season, while the junior Pokorney became the fourth Porter County champion with 3-1 decision over South Bend Washington’s Isaiah McWilliams in the 285-pound match to end the season with a 42-0 record.
In the 120-pound match, the junior Watts edged Perry Meridian’s Samuel Fair, 2-1, to close with a 44-1 record, while the senior Graber got past Brownsburg’s Nathan Walton, 9-8, in the 182-pound finale to finish with a 48-1 mark.
The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
