Positively Promoting the Student Athlete Since 1992

The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Marquette Catholic senior basketball player Sophia Nolan and Munster junior swimmer Kyle Adams.

In Saturday’s Class 1A state girls’ basketball championship game held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, the 6-foot-2 Nolan tallied 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to help the top-ranked and defending state champion Blazers (27-2) to a 57-36 victory over No. 2 and previously unbeaten Vincennes Rivet (29-1). Nolan, a Saint John’s University recruit, added two assists and three steals as Marquette Catholic became the first Class 1A team to repeat as state champions since Fort Wayne Canterbury in 2012 and 2013.

In Saturday’s IHSAA state boys’ swimming and diving championships held at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Adams captured the state title in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54:08 to help the Mustangs to a fifth place finish with 160 points behind state champion Carmel (353.5).

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
