The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Andrean senior basketball player John Carrothers and Culver Academy junior basketball player Deontae Craig.

In Saturday’s Class 2A Lafayette boys’ basketball semistate title game held at Lafayette Jeff High School, the 6-foot-3 guard netted 20 points and grabbed six rebounds in the 59ers’ 73-64 double-overtime win over No. 4 Frankton. Carrothers also added two assists and a blocked shot to help Andrean (20-8) advance to the state finals for the first time since 2000. The 59ers take on No. 8 Linton-Stockton (27-3) at 11:45 a.m. CDT on March 23 at Bakers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

In Saturday’s Class 3A Elkhart boys’ basketball semistate contest held at North Side Gym, the 6-foot-5 forward tallied 10 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter of the No. 3 and defending state champion Eagles’ 57-44 win over Marion. Craig also chipped in 11 rebounds for Culver Academy (24-3), which takes on No. 6 Silver Creek (24-3) on March 23 at 6 p.m. EDT at Bakers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
