The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is Andrean sophomore basketball player Nicholas Flesher.

In Saturday’s Class 2A state boys’ basketball championship game against No. 8 Linton-Stockton at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, the 6-foot Flesher tallied 12 points, including five free throws in the final 1:24, as Andrean used an 11-0 run to close out the contest and claim a 59-54 victory for their first title in boys’ basketball. Ironically, the 59ers (21-8), who are in their 59th year of existence as a school, scored 59 points in the contest.

Special recognition also goes out to Culver Academy senior basketball player John Cohen, who was the recipient of the Class 3A Trester mental attitude award. The 5-foot-9 Cohen had three assists for the No. 3 Eagles (24-4), who came up short in their bid to repeat as state champions with a 52-49 loss to No. 6 Silver Creek.

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
