The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is Penn senior pitcher Danielle Watson. In Monday’s 16-0 blanking of Clay, the right-hander tossed a one-hitter with eight strikeouts and helped her own cause with three hits and three RBIs. Then, in Tuesday’s 9-0 triumph over Concord, the Louisville-bound Watson struck out the first 19 batters she faced and finished with a two-hitter and 21 strikeouts. It is the second highest total for strikeouts in a game in Indiana high school history for a seven-inning game. She also added three hits and three RBIs to lead the top-ranked (Class 4A) Kingsmen (16-0). For the season, Watson is 11-0 with a 0.47 earned-run average. In 59 innings pitched, she has allowed 19 hits, four earned runs with 136 strikeouts and 16 walks. At the plate, she is batting .475 (19-of-40) with three home runs and 21 RBIs for Penn, which is also 5-0 in the Northern Indiana Conference.
