The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Calumet junior quarterback Mark Flores and Penn senior golfer Lyvia Li.
In Friday’s 36-0 blanking of Whiting, Flores threw touchdown passes of 22 and 44 yards, ran for two additional scores of seven and nine yards, and added three two-point conversion runs. In addition to posting their first win over Whiting since 2009, the Warriors (3-1) also dedicated the game in honor of freshman Curtis Walton, who tragically passed away in a drowning accident earlier in the week.
In Saturday’s Northern Indiana Conference meet held at McCormick Creek Golf Course in Nappanee, Li captured medalist honors by shooting a two-under-par score of 70 to help the Kingsmen to the team title with a score of 327. Earlier this summer, Li also won the South Bend Women’s Metro Open championship.
The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
