The Centier Bank Performers of the Week is NorthWood senior basketball player Maddy Payne, along with Munster senior swimmers Grant Afman, Holden Raffin, and Kyle Adams.

The 6-foot-1 forward netted 13 of her 19 points in the second half and hauled down 10 rebounds Saturday night to help the No. 7 Panthers (28-3) rally for a 37-29 victory over top-ranked Salem (25-4) in the Class 3A girls’ basketball state championship game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse Along with guiding NorthWood to its first state title since 1999, the Bethel University volleyball recruit was also named the recipient of the Class 3A Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude award.

This talented trio ended their high school careers in style by helping the Mustangs to a second-place finish with 183 points at the IHSAA boys’ swimming state finals held Saturday at the Indiana University Natatorium at IUPUI in Indianapolis.  Afman finished third in the 100 butterfly; Raffin notched a fourth-place finish in both the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke, while Adams came away second in the 100 breastroke. Afman, Raffin, and Adams were also part of the 200 medley relay team that finished second. It was Munster’s best finish at the state finals since 2010.

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
