Chargers Hang on to Win in Overtime

Port Huron, MI – Ancilla College needed overtime to dispose of pesky Muskegon 94-88 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 12, District 9 semifinals on Thursday. The Chargers (28-2) will meet Grand Rapids at 1 p.m. Saturday for the region championship and a bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.

Teyon Scanlan did not have his best day of shooting, but his three-pointer with 33 seconds left helped shut down Muskegon and propelled the Chargers to victory. Scanlan finished with 16 points.

Tyler Chisom hit free throws down the stretch and finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Jair Rodgers also scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebound. Erick Shepherd came off the bench to score 11 points and collected seven rebounds, while DK Fox added 10 points and nine rebounds.
