Clark surpasses Pistol Pete Marovich in No.6 Hawkeyes 93-83 win over No.2 Ohio State

POSTGAME NOTES         

– No. 6 Iowa (26-4, 15-3) dropped No. 2 Ohio State (25-4, 16-2), 93-83, inside a sold-out Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday afternoon.    

– National Player of the Year candidate, Caitlin Clark, surpassed the NCAA men’s basketball all-time leading scorer, Pete Maravich.   

– With the win, the Hawkeye secured a double-bye in the Big Ten Tournament. 

– Iowa will be the 2-Seed in the BTT. 

– Kylie Feuerbach recorded a career-best four steals. 

– Hannah Stuelke registered her sixth 20-point game of her career.   

– Feuerbach’s four steals are the second-most by an Iowa Hawkeye in a single game this season. 

– Iowa has scored 100+ points 11 times this season and in four out of the last five games.  

– It was Clark’s 18th game with 30+ points this year which ranks first nationally.  

– Over the last 25 seasons, no one has recorded more 30+ point performances than Clark. (55) 

– Among active players who didn’t transfer, Marshall (121) and Martin (118) are third and fourth nationally for most active wins in a career.  

– Clark leads the country in 20+ point games this season with 30.  

– Clark is the only player in the country with 900+ points, 225+ assists, and 175+ rebounds this season.  

– Iowa is 41-6 in Big Ten play since Feb. 9, 2022.  

– Iowa is 11-8 over the past four seasons against AP Top 10 teams. 

– Since the start of the 2020-21 season, Iowa leads the nation with 101 games of 80+ points.  

– Iowa also leads the country with 56 games of 90+ points offensively.  

– UI has scored 80 or more points 24 times this season.  

– The country’s best offense has record 90+ points in 10 out of the last 12 games.  

– Clark has scored 20+ points in 115-of-130 career games which is the most in program history.  

– Clark kept her streak alive of 87 consecutive games making a 3-point basket. (NCAA best)     

– Clark is the first Division-I men’s or women’s player to record 3,600+ points, 1,000+ assists, and 850+ rebounds in a career.
