Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week
AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League announced its athletes of the week on Monday, recognizing the top performers from the week of November 20 through 26. In order to be considered for the award, a student-athlete must be nominated by their institution’s Sports Information Director.
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Gage Ott, Bethel
Ott fueled No. 22 Bethel’s, 94-90, upset of No. 15 Taylor with 28 points, six rebounds and two blocks, missing only four shots from the floor and pouring in nine points over the final 3:53 to flip the one-point TU lead into the four-point BC victory.
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Kellie Kirkhoff, Marian
Kirkhoff led the top-ranked Knights to a trio of double-digit victories, averaging 19.7 points, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game, while shooting 42.9 percent from beyond the arc. Kirkhoff set a career-high with 31 points on eight-of-13 shooting from deep in MU’s win at Florida Memorial.
