Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League announced its athletes of the week on Monday, recognizing the top performers from the week of January 15-21. In order to be considered for the award, a student-athlete must be nominated by their institution’s Sports Information Director.
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Wes Stowers, Marian
Stowers turned in a pair of 20-point performances for Marian, leading the Knights past Goshen with 25 points and nine assists, and adding 20 points and three steals in a loss to MVNU. Stowers averaged 22.5 points, 6.5 assists and 2.0 steals, while shooting 51.7 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Kendall Bradbury, Taylor
Bradbury continued her torrid pace for the No. 22 Trojans, averaging 28.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals, while shooting 65.7 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from deep in a pair of TU victories. Bradbury poured in 36 points in 32 minutes against Bethel and posted 21 points and 11 rebounds in a win against Grace.
Men’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Brennan Coil, Indiana Wesleyan
Coil posted an NAIA A standard in the shot put and notched a win in the weight toss to pace Indiana Wesleyan. Coil’s toss of 16.57 meters in the shot put currently ranks as the fourth-best in the NAIA this season.
Men’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Austin Hickerson, Spring Arbor
Hickerson won three events for Spring Arbor and hit the NAIA B standard in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.0 seconds. Hickerson won the 400, while also finishing first in the 200-meter dash and the 4×400-meter relay.
Women’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Danielle Wojciechowski, Bethel
Wojciechowski broke her own Bethel record, hit the NAIA A standard and turned in the top mark in the pole vault this season with a height of 4.07 meters to win the event at the Grand Valley State Open.
Women’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Alex McFarland, Indiana Wesleyan
McFarland hit the NAIA B standard and tied Indiana Wesleyan’s program record in the 60-meter dash, claimed a win in the 200-meter dash and also helped IWU take fourth in the 4×400-meter relay in her first collegiate meet.
