Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League announced its athletes of the week on Monday, recognizing the top performers from the week of January 29 through February 4. In order to be considered for the award, a student-athlete must be nominated by their institution’s Sports Information Director.
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Bryce Lienhoop, Saint Francis
Lienhoop reached a major career milestone by becoming USF’s first player to register 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. The senior forward averaged 22.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game and shot 73.7 percent from the field in a pair of convincing wins for the No. 3 Cougars.
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Joana Soeiro, Marian
Soeiro continued her torrid stretch for No. 5 Marian, averaging 17.0 points, 12.0 assists, 6.0 steals and 4.5 rebounds per game to help the Knights extend their lead in the standings with wins over No. 20 IWU and Spring Arbor. Soeiro flirted with a quadruple double against IWU, ending with 25 points, 10 assists, eight steals and six boards in 36 minutes of work.
Men’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Brennan Coil, Indiana Wesleyan
Coil won the shot put with a toss of 17.27 meters at the IWU Midwest Invite, hitting the NAIA A mark and turning in the fourth-best distance in the nation this season.
Men’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Noah Stratton, Indiana Wesleyan
Stratton hit NAIA A marks in the 600-meter run and 4×800-meter relay for Indiana Wesleyan, winning both events with times of 1:21.62 and 7:46.67. Stratton set the IWU record in the 600-meter run and posted the eighth-best time in the NAIA this season, while helping the relay squad turn in the top time in the NAIA this year.
Women’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Plenseh-Tay Sakeuh, Taylor
Sakeuh also hit two NAIA A marks, winning the long jump with a leap of 5.76 meters and taking second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.97 seconds. Sakeuh’s long jump showing was the fifth-best in the NAIA this season.
Women’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Mae Elizabeth Gimre
Gimre clocked the eighth-best time in the 3,000-meter run at the NAIA level this season and claimed third overall at the Midwest Invite with an A-standard time of 10:23.57, before helping Taylor win the distance-medley relay with an A-standard time of 12:17.19.
