Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | March 12-18

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League announced its athletes of the week on Monday, recognizing the top performers from the week of March 12 through 18. In order to be considered for the award, a student-athlete must be nominated by their institution’s Sports Information Director.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Kory Goodrich, Bethel
Goodrich fanned 11 Wildcats in a 5-0 home victory for Bethel against IWU, allowing only four hits and four walks over eight shutout innings on the hill.
Baseball Player of the Week
Francisco Ondina, Spring Arbor
Ondina led Spring Arbor to a series win over Goshen by hitting six-of-eight with four runs, two doubles, four walks and four runs batted in during the three-game series.
Softball Pitcher of the Week
Mckenzey Ridge, Indiana Wesleyan
Ridge pitched No. 10 Indiana Wesleyan to a sweep of RV Taylor in a critical early-season league showdown with a save and a win in the circle. Ridge did not allow a run in the two outings, yielding only three hits and three walks in the eight dominant frames.
Softball Player of the Week
Issy Hoyt, Marian
Hoyt highlighted No. 2 Marian’s sweep of SAU by going 5-5 at the plate in the two wins and adding three doubles and five runs batted in.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
Eli Steiner, Indiana Wesleyan
Steiner helped No. 23 IWU secure a 9-0 win over NCAA Division II Bellarmine with wins at No. 1 singles and doubles.
Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Lizzie Bauss, Indiana Wesleyan
Bauss registered the lone win of the match for No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan against NCAA Division II Bellarmine, taking a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
Men’s Golfer of the Week
Travis Sterrett, Marian
Sterrett finished fifth-of-62 to lead MU at the Heritage Hills Collegiate. The senior carded a 73 and 68 to post a two-round score of 141 and help the Knights to a third-place finish at the 10-team event.
Women’s Golfer of the Week
Mira Nicpon, Marian
Nicpon led Marian to a team title at the Heritage Hills Collegiate by finishing third overall at the eight-team event. Nicpon fired a 78 and 77 for a two-round score of 155.
Men’s Outdoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Andrew Boyle, Marian
Boyle took second place of nine athletes in the javelin with a toss of 42.25 meters at the Butler Invite.
Men’s Outdoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Lucas Sullivan, Marian
Sullivan finished fourth-of-22 in the 3,000-meter run at the Butler Invite with a time of 8:52.06 to finish in front of 18 NCAA Division I racers.
Women’s Outdoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Amelia Robben, Marian
Robben won the triple jump with a mark of 10.49 meters at the Butler Invite, topping two other NCAA Division I competitors in the event.
Women’s Outdoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Tamia Mills, Marian
Mills competed well against NCAA Division I rivals, taking third-of-seven in the 4×100-meter relay and sixth-of-14 in the 100-meter dash at the Butler Invite.
