Crossroads League Announces Women’s Soccer Award Winners

 

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League announced its 2017 Women’s Soccer All-League Team on Tuesday, just three days after Spring Arbor added the CL Tournament Championship to its regular season title.

 

SAU was well represented on the list, taking four of the six major awards and securing six of the 25 spots on the 2017 First-Team All-Crossroads League list. Jason Crist was named the CL Coach of the Year, with Bethany Balcer being voted the CL Player of the Year, Aubrey Schierbeek the CL Offensive Player of the Year and Sarah Klunder the CL Defensive Player of the Year.

 

Maria Farmer and Catherine Schmidt of Marian claimed the remaining two top honors, with Farmer receiving the CL Midfield Player-of-the-Year award and Schmidt earning CL Newcomer-of-the-Year honors.
