Crossroads League in the NAIA National Polls | April 9-15

 

KANSAS CITY – The NAIA released a new batch of Top-25 Polls this week for the sports of softball and tennis. The Crossroads League placed seven teams in those polls and currently boasts a total of 31 teams ranked or receiving votes.

 

SOFTBALL (Announced on April 10 – Next Poll on April 24)
No. 2 Marian (26-2, 17-1 CL) moved back up to the second spot with 503 points. The Knights currently hold a three-game lead over No. 11 IWU for the top spot in the CL standings and are doing it on both sides of the ball with a .342 team average and a 1.45 staff earned-run average.

 

No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan (33-6, 14-4 CL) also inched up one spot in the new ratings and earned 375 points. The Wildcats are hitting .351 as a team and currently rank No. 7 in the NAIA with a .542 team slugging percentage.

 

WOMEN’S TENNIS (Announced on April 10 – Next Poll on April 24)
No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan (25-4, 9-0 CL) held steady inside the Top-10 in the new poll with 275 points. IWU has gone 9-4 this spring with a 7-3 clip against nationally-ranked teams.

 

No. 25 Marian (16-4, 8-1 CL) cracked the Top-25 with 86 points in the latest rankings. MU is 7-2 this spring and has won two-of-three contests against Top-25 foes.

 

RV Huntington (14-3, 7-2 CL) remained in the receiving votes portion of the poll with 23 points. The Foresters have taken the courts for one match this spring, dropping a 6-3 decision.

 

MEN’S TENNIS (Announced on April 10 – Next Poll on April 24)
No. 22 Indiana Wesleyan (24-6, 9-0 CL) moved up one spot in the polls with 107 points. The Wildcats are 9-7 this spring, with four wins against nationally-ranked opponents.

 

RV Marian (13-8, 7-2 CL) also picked up seven points in the ratings to find its way into the receiving votes portion of the poll. MU has won three-of-eight matches this spring.
