Crossroads League in the NAIA National Polls – August 28-September 3

 

KANSAS CITY – The NAIA announced its 2017 Preseason Top-25 Polls recently for the sports of women’s and men’s golf. The Crossroads League placed six teams in those polls, highlighted by a No. 13 ranking from the Taylor men’s golf program and a No. 19 rating from the Marian women’s golf team.

 

WOMEN’S GOLF (Next Poll on September 29)
No. 19 Marian claimed 230 points in the preseason rankings to crack the top-20. The Knights were third in the league one year ago and have not finished outside of the top-three in any of the past five years.

 

RV Saint Francis earned 70 points in the poll on the heels of back-to-back fourth-place showings in the league. USF is led by the CL Player of the Year, Marissa Singer.

 

RV Bethel took home five points in the preseason ratings. The Pilots placed fifth at the league championships last season after four-straight top-two finishes.

 

RV Taylor was the final team in the poll, joining 15 programs in the receiving votes portion after claiming the program’s first-ever Crossroads League Championship one year ago.

 

MEN’S GOLF (Next Poll on September 29)

No. 13 Taylor claimed 255 points and a top-15 showing in the preseason ratings after sealing a second-straight Crossroads League Championship last year. The Trojans posted eight tournament titles last season to highlight a head-to-head mark of 141-36.

 

RV Marian earned 22 points for the 36th-highest total in the poll. The Knights finished second at the league championship last spring and claimed six top-three team finishes one year ago.
