Crossroads League in the NAIA National Polls | February 19-25

 

KANSAS CITY – The NAIA released a new batch of Top-25 Polls this week for the sports of women’s and men’s basketball. The Crossroads League placed eight teams in those two polls and currently boasts a total of 33 teams ranked or receiving votes.

 

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL (Announced on February 20 – Next Poll on February 28)
No. 5 Marian (29-2) brought in 247 points and did not change position in the latest batch of ratings. The Knights have won 17-straight games and will host RV Grace in the Crossroads League Tournament Semifinals, after taking down SAU in the quarterfinals.

 

No. 15 Indiana Wesleyan (24-7) jumped up five spots with a new total of 149 points. IWU extended a six-game win streak by edging Saint Francis in the CL Tournament Quarterfinals and will host No. 18 Taylor in the semifinals on Friday.

 

No. 18 Taylor (22-9) picked up 132 points in the poll and slipped two spots, despite being in the midst of a four-game win streak. TU took out MVNU to open play in the league tournament and will play at No. 15 IWU on Friday in the second round.

 

RV Grace (17-14) jumped into the poll with three points. The Lancers have won seven of their last nine, including a win over Huntington in the CL Tournament Quarters. Up next for GC will be a semifinal game at No. 5 Marian.

 

MEN’S BASKETBALL (Announced on February 20 – Next Poll on February 28)
No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan (24-7) inched into the top-five in the new poll with 274 points. IWU secured the regular season Crossroads League Championship, before taking out Taylor in the CL Tournament. The Wildcats will host Huntington on Saturday in a semifinal clash.

 

No. 8 Saint Francis (24-7) lost three-of-four games to close the regular season and fell from No. 3 in the new poll with 240 points. USF bounced back to edge SAU in the league quarterfinals and will host MVNU on Saturday in the CL Tournament Semifinals.

 

No. 15 Bethel (22-9) secured 171 points in the latest rankings to move up one position in the Top-25. The Pilots won five-of-six games to close the regular season, but were upset in the CL Tournament Quarterfinals by MVNU.

 

No. 24 Marian (20-11) made its first appearance in the Top-25 this season with 64 points. The Knights closed the regular season with wins in four-of-five outings but suffered an upset at the hands of Huntington in their first league tournament game.
