Crossroads League in the NAIA National Polls | March 12-18

KANSAS CITY – The NAIA released a new batch of Top-25 Polls this week for the sports of softball and tennis. The Crossroads League placed eight teams in those polls and currently boasts a total of 34 teams ranked or receiving votes.

 

SOFTBALL (Announced on March 13 – Next Poll on March 27)
No. 2 Marian (11-1, 2-0 CL) grabbed one first-place vote and moved up two spots in the new rankings with 480 votes. MU currently leads the NAIA with a staff earned-run average of 1.01.

No. 10 Indiana Wesleyan (19-2) did not change spots in the new poll, taking 369 points. The Wildcats have slugged .497 as a team through their first 20 outings.

RV Taylor (6-2) continued to receive votes in the poll with five points. TU boasts a .360 team batting average and has slugged .540 as a unit.

 

WOMEN’S TENNIS (Announced on March 13 – Next Poll on March 27)
No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan (23-1) slipped four spots in the latest ratings with 276 points. IWU is 9-1 this spring with a 5-1 clip against nationally-ranked teams.

RV Huntington (14-3) maintained its spot in the poll with 36 points. The Foresters have yet to open play this spring.

 

RV Marian (14-2) jumped back into the rankings with 16 points. The Knights have posted wins in each of their five spring outings.

 

MEN’S TENNIS (Announced on March 13 – Next Poll on March 27)
No. 23 Indiana Wesleyan (22-3) inched up two spots and garnered 108 points in the new poll. The Wildcats are 7-3 this spring and have played eight matches against teams ranked or receiving votes in the poll.

 

RV Marian (12-7) remained in the receiving votes portion of the poll with six points. MU is 2-4 this spring with three losses to ranked teams or NCAA Division II foes.
