Crossroads League in the NAIA National Polls – September 18-24

 

KANSAS CITY – The NAIA released a new batch of Top-25 Polls this week for the sports of soccer and volleyball. The Crossroads League placed eight teams in those polls, highlighted by the Spring Arbor women’s soccer team’s No. 2 ranking.

 

WOMEN’S SOCCER (Next Poll on September 26)
No. 2 Spring Arbor (8-1, 0-0 CL) fell out of the top spot with 452 points in the new poll. SAU topped No. 10 Lindsey Wilson, before suffering its first loss to now No. 1 Martin Methodist.

 

No. 17 Taylor (6-2, 0-0 CL) also slid back one position and garnered five fewer points for a new total of 239. Taylor blanked a pair of opponents, before suffering a 1-0 loss at Cornerstone.

 

No. 20 Marian (6-2, 0-0 CL) jumped up two spots with a new total of 181 points. MU topped NCAA Division I Eastern Illinois and RV Siena Heights between the two rankings.

 

RV Grace (3-2-3, 0-0 CL) continued to receive votes outside the Top-25, earning 11 points in the newest poll. The Lancers battled RV Georgetown to a 1-1 draw in their lone match of the week.

 

MEN’S SOCCER (Next Poll on September 26)
No. 22 Spring Arbor (7-2, 0-0 CL) climbed two spots and 64 points to a new total of 171 points, after securing a pair of shutout victories during the past week of action.

 

RV Bethel (6-1-1, 0-0 CL) gained 20 points to a new total of 57 and remained in the receiving votes portion of the poll. The Pilots scored a pair of wins in two outings since the previous ratings.

 

VOLLEYBALL (Next Poll on October 3)
No. 25 Marian (15-2, 7-0 CL) jumped into the Top-25 with 124 total points. The Knights are the lone unbeaten team left in Crossroads League play and are in the midst of a 13-match win streak.

 

RV Indiana Wesleyan (12-3, 6-1 CL) slipped just outside of a national ranking with 91 points, falling 147 points in the poll, despite boasting a 5-1 clip since the previous rankings.
