LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University baseball coach Adrian Dinkel will be part of the coaching staff for the Prospect Development Pipeline League, ran by Major League Baseball and USA Baseball.
Dinkel is one of two current collegiate baseball coaches participating on the coaching side, which also features former World Series MVP Scott Brosius, former ALCS MVP Andy Pettite, as well as other former pro standouts.
“This is a huge opportunity to work with some of the best high school players in the country and prepare them for college baseball,” said Dinkel. “I’m excited to be a part of this league and work with some great players and coaches.”
The program is a collaborative effort between MLB, the MLB Scouting Bureau, and USA Baseball and is an official identification and player assessment pathway for elite high school age amateur baseball players in the United States to all 30 MLB Clubs for the amateur draft, as well as Team USA.
The league will hold its workouts and games at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. starting Tuesday, and will send the top 40 participants to the High School All Star Prospects Game at Progressive Field in Cleveland as part of MLB’s All-Star Week.
