Dominant Offensive Performance Leads to Rout over Bethel

UPLAND, Ind. – RV Taylor poured in seven goals for the first time since 2017 on its way to a convincing 7-0 victory over the Bethel Pilots. Six different Trojans scored in the team’s fifth shutout of the season.

An uneventful beginning to the match was interrupted by three goals in three minutes from the Taylor (8-1-1, 1-0-1 CL) women’s soccer squad. Morgan Orme, Erin Teevans and Hannah Davis all found the back of the net for a 3-0 Taylor advantage.

The three first half goals came by way of a great lead pass, as the running forward got behind the defense and polished off the netter. The three upperclassmen have been stellar this year, helping the team to a 32-7 goal differential.

The Trojans continued their strong play in the second half, as the host squad tacked on four more goals. TU was dominant with its ball control, maintaining possession and holding Bethel (3-8-0, 0-2-0 CL) to just two shots.

Newcomers seized their opportunities in the second half, as Ava Hubbard, Alanna Raikes and AC Hardy posted their first career goals in the afternoon match. Also adding to the scoring column, Orme notched her second goal of the contest, marking her first multi-score effort.

On a spectacular offensive day, Teevans led the way with a goal and two assists for the Trojans. The performance put her season totals to team-highs five goals and six assists.

Megan Williams and Lauren Cammarano shared the goalie responsibilities on Saturday, as the duo helped the team to its fifth shutout. The 7-0 final score proved to be the largest win against a Crossroads League opponent for the Trojans since 2006.

The Trojans will return to action at Goshen (6-2-0, 1-0-0 CL) on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
