LAKELAND, Fla.- After a pair of first-place finishes in the Holloway Park Festival, the Southeastern University men’s and receiving votes women’s cross country programs are looking to build on the early season momentum. For the second-straight season, the both teams head to Gainesville to compete in the University of Florida Mountain Dew Invitational.

CODE RED:

This marks the fourth time in both the men’s and women’s program history that SEU has competed in the Mountain Dew Invite.

The best team finish all-time team finish in the race for the men is 10th (2014, 2018), while the women finished fifth in last season’s race.

The best individual women’s time in the race is held by current sophomore Julia Rohm, who ran an 18:24 5K last season that was the fifth-fasted 5K time in program history.

Rohm is coming off her second-straight top-finish at the Holloway Festival. Rohm cruised to the overall win with a time of 19:48, finishing nearly 20 seconds ahead of teammate Mackenzie Johnson who finished second. The Fire won the event, with five of the top seven finishers in the field.

The best individual men’s time in the race is held by Rashaad Graves, whose 26:28 finish in 2014 still stands as the fourth-best 8K time in school history.

The Fire men also earned a first-place finish at Holloway Park last weekend, finishing just two points shy of a perfect team score. Senior transfer Mario Perez competed in his first race with SEU, and first in two years. He was the top collegiate finisher in the race, placing second overall in the 6K race in a time of 20:15.
