LAKELAND, Fla.—The Southeastern University men’s basketball team finished fifth in the 2017-18 Sun Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
The Fire collected a total of 57 points and securing a first-place vote. Defending regular season champion Florida Memorial finished first with 73 total points and six first-place votes. St. Thomas and Warner tied for second with 63, with St. Thomas getting two first-place nods, and Warner one.
Keiser finished three points ahead of the Fire with 60 points.
The 2017-18 Sun Conference Tournament begins on Feb. 22, with quarterfinal action hosted by the higher seeds as determined by the final league standings. The tournament semifinals and championship game will be hosted by the regular season champion on Feb. 26-27.
Southeastern begins play on November 2 at home against Trinity College.
